The Glamorgan History Society is pleased to announce the introduction of the George Thomas Clark Award for History.
The award will be made annually, where warranted, to an individual who, in the view of the award’s assessors, has made an outstanding contribution to the history of Glamorgan via published works comprising books, monographs and articles. Where relevant, assessors will also consider an individual’s contribution through services such as office holding within historical organisations, representational roles, the dissemination of historical study either within their own area or more widely, and the more general raising of awareness of Glamorgan’s rich and diverse history.
It is proposed that the initial award will be presented at the Glamorgan History Society’s Autumn Day School on 7 November 2026.
The Glamorgan History Society is grateful to the South Wales Institute of Engineers Educational Trust (SWIEET) for the funding of this award.
